SHDS Summer Study Scholarship

We are awarding 2 scholarships this year to dancers who are eager to continue their dance education and training over the summer of 2025.

We will be offering:

1 scholarship to attend our 2025 SHDS Summer Dance Camp

1 scholarship of $250.00 to attend a camp, intensive, workshop, experience outside of our SHDS community.

Deadline is May 21, 2025.

Requirements: Must be an active SHDS Dancer, Age of 3-12th grade, Essay, and Video submission.

ESSAY TOPIC

Please briefly describe why you are passionate about the art of dance and how it has impacted your life. Why is dance important, and how you can apply what you have learned from dance to other areas of your life. Please share what challenges you have overcome in dance that have helped you become a better dancer and person. Please share what your future aspirations are as they relate to dance. Please explain what your plans for summer study would include, why you have chosen this specific program or classes, and why it would benefit you.

800–1,000 words

VIDEO

Please submit a 1 minute and 30 second video showcasing any style of dance that best describes you. We ask that you either choreograph or improv the material. Please do not use recital dances.
